Fertilizer

Fertilizer is a natural or synthetic substance added to soil or plants to supply essential nutrients that promote healthy growth and increase crop yields. The primary nutrients found in most fertilizers are nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K), often referred to as NPK. Fertilizers can be organic, such as compost, manure, and bone meal, or chemical, such as urea and superphosphate. While fertilizers play a crucial role in modern agriculture by boosting productivity, excessive or improper use can lead to environmental problems like soil degradation, water pollution, and harm to beneficial organisms. Sustainable use of fertilizers is essential for long-term soil health and food security.
